Arriving in TurkuAirport pickupBus transportation will be arranged from both Helsinki
International Airport and Tampere directly to the tournament site
and further on to your accommodation. Alternatively, similar
pick-up can be arranged for those arriving to Finland by ferry to
the Helsinki harbors. The distance in all cases is about 170 km and
takes about 2 hours to drive. See Registration
for information about airport pickup. For individual travelersVia Helsinki By air: Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
is about 45 minutes by bus from downtown Helsinki.
Finnair runs a direct
bus service from the airport to the city centre (5€). By train: The Finnair Airport Bus arrives
to and departs from Helsinki central railway station. There is an
hourly train service between downtown Helsinki and downtown Turku
which takes about 2 hours and costs about 50€ return. Please
note that tickets for the train must be bought before boarding the
train. By bus: There is a coach service
from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Turku and back. At Helsinki-Vantaa
airport the busses stop in front of the International Flights
Terminal. More busses to Turku run from downtown Helsinki. To get
to the downtown bus terminal (linja-autoasema) from the airport
take the Finnair airport bus. This airport bus takes you to the
city centre railway station which is located close to the bus
terminal. Busses to Turku depart hourly and tickets can be
bought on board. In Turku the busses stop at Kupittaa
before arriving at the downtown bus terminal. The bus trip takes
somewhat less than 3 hours. The return fare from Helsinki
to Turku costs 41€. By car: From Helsinki-Vantaa Airport,
take the Kehä III (E18) bound west. After about 20 km, exit and
take the freeway 1 to Turku. From downtown Helsinki, follow the
signs to freeway 1 to Turku. In Turku, take the exit Kupittaa.
Follow the signs to Kupittaa.
Via Tampere By air: There is bus service between
the Tampere Airport and downtown Tampere where trains
depart almost hourly. By train: From downtown Tampere trains
leave almost hourly. The train journey takes about 2 hours and
costs about 40 € return. By bus: Busses to Turku depart
almost hourly and tickets can be bought on board. The journey
takes somewhat less than 3 hours. A return ticket
costs 33€. By car: Take the highway 3/9 to
Turku. After about 8 km, exit from highway 3/9 to highway
9 to Turku. In Turku, stay on road 9 and follow the signs to
Helsinki. At Satakunnantie, turn left and cross the railroad
bridge. Drive along Aninkaistenkatu and cross the river by the
cathedral. Continue along Uudenmaankatu until you see the fields
and the stadium on your left.
