Japan women

Profile
The Japanese women have had particularly good
success in international competition. For the last Worlds in
Heilbronn 2000, Japan took home the silver, defeating Finland 15-9
in the semifinal before bowing out to Canada 15-8 in the
finals.
For club worlds in Hawaii 2002, the Japanese
sent four club teams (MUD, Spirals, Barbarians and Naughty Kids)
and all four posted good results. Despite splitting up the talent,
MUD finished 8th overall, second-best from non-Americans. MUD even
upset Prime 16-10 at Worlds that year and Prime is here
representing Canada.
This year's team is combined from club squads
MUD, Spirals, Huck and CUJC and has several players who have
finished last at Worlds and second at Worlds, twice. You can expect
they will be more like the latter. They are seeded second.
